We have experienced child mortality up close, in relation to a prematurely born baby. At that time (2002) there was next to nothing for premature or deceased baby’s, no clothes, no colourful caskets or coffins, and mostly no opportunities for a funeral. That’s why we started Amelius. Through the experiences of the last decade we have observed an enormous need to give a worthy farewell to the deceased child regardless of age.
Amelius is the market leader (in the Netherlands) with the biggest assortment of “(Personal Farewell)” products. Every child is unique and thus also every casket. We use as much natural materials as possible to create a feeling of tenderness and warmth. The mattresses and the swaddle wraps are made of absorbing material to prevent possible leakage.
Our brochure displays the product that we can deliver. Of course personalisation is possible, with a modest add-on. For instance Amelius can use the cloth of the nursery or a favourite bedspread and repurpose it for a casket or coffin.
