The intense week following a death can be a dear time when the opportunity is created. For most people, this is not evident due to the many choices facing them during a time filled with cold time pressure.
Personal goodbye
Because Woodbye offers the possibility to personalize a coffin in a very simple way—just like a funeral card—it truly becomes a farewell coffin. A coffin that allows relatives to reflect on the deceased by choosing from more than ninety types of material and adding texts or images. The final farewell becomes truly personal and heartfelt.
Tangible memento
In addition, we have found that a tangible memento of the time of saying goodbye is particularly valuable. And that it is such a waste to burn or bury an entire coffin. With Woodbye, you can therefore choose to cremate or bury only the bier board, the deceased is enveloped in a shroud, and have objects made from the personalized panels. Such as an urn, a stool, or a birdhouse. In this way, the very personal wood remains preserved and tangible in daily life.
Sustainable
We work with sustainable materials and local, sustainable partners. After personalization, the coffin is made on-demand within a few hours and, thanks to its unique modular design, is easy to ship or transport. It can also be assembled in a few minutes without tools or technical expertise. And naturally, retaining the side panels and lid reduces emissions and pollution from crematoriums. A valuable form of upcycling.
