About us
Mními artisanally creates fully biodegradable urns, comfort lights, and shrouds made from sheep's wool. Discover our unique Mními wool products at the VTU Funeral Trade Fair on September 29 and 30, 2026, in Gorinchem. We are ready to inspire you with soft, sustainable, and personal Wool Urns and Wool Lights that offer comfort during a farewell. From a passion for nature and working with a large flock of sheep, a love for wool and felting as an ancient craft was born. Captivated by the strength and vulnerability of the material, a background as a therapist, and the desire to create something beautiful with my own hands to pass on to others, the Wool Urn was born. From the earth, back to the earth, in a safe, warm, and soft cocoon of love—was and still is the intention behind everything we create. A unique product in individuality and form. The Wool Urn has a base of merino wool into which we incorporate naturally dyed sheep curls. Extremely suitable for natural burial, but due to its soft appearance, the Wool Urn is also a warm and unique work of art for the living room. Every urn is made with care and love, or "born," as we often say. The shape symbolizes where we, as humans or animals, come from and to which we return. Sheltered, in a soft, warm embrace. They are all unique; never perfectly round or finished, with imperfections that represent the turning points in a life. We make them in our own studio, where we always have a collection available for viewing. We prefer to tailor the color scheme and texture of the urn to the wishes of the bereaved or to the personality of their loved one. This creates a tangible memory that is truly fitting. To be able to meet every request We make the WoolenUrn in 5 sizes, ranging from 0.5 to 4 liters. The smallest urns are suitable for distributing ashes among family members, but also for storing the ashes of a beloved pet. The WoolenLight is a comfort light in which the light always burns in memory of a loved one. This product is also made primarily from the softest, natural wool from sheep that graze happily in the meadow. We supplement this with silk, natural fibers, and characteristic sheep curls. Optionally, we also incorporate ashes or hair so that a loved one remains tangibly present. Upon request, we coordinate the color scheme of one or more WoolenLights with the urn or with each other to create a harmonious whole that reflects the connection. We felt this product in 2 sizes: diameter 13 cm and 18 cm. The WoolenShroud is a separate swan wing made of white merino wool which, in this form, can be used as a basket or coffin lining and, when used in pairs, becomes a shroud. All our products are made sustainably, are fully biodegradable, and can be quickly be delivered. Moreover, every object is unique and tailored to the wishes of a surviving relative.
