About us
Most funeral locations have a place of remembrance. Often tucked away. After the funeral, families rarely return.
Gedenkbomen takes a different approach. We create contemporary memorials and funeral products for crematoria, funeral homes and cemeteries. At the heart of our work is the Memorial Tree in corten steel: a lasting work of art made from sustainable material in which the name of a loved one lives on, engraved on a leaf.
For your location, it creates a place families can return to. On an anniversary, on a birthday, with grandchildren, even years after the funeral.
At the VTU funeral trade fair, we will show what is possible for your location:
- the freestanding Memorial Tree in corten steel
- the Wall Tree for indoor or outdoor use
- the Farewell Tree as an alternative to the condolence book
- new in 2026: mini urns, garden urns and memorial monuments
Since 2016, more than 60 Memorial Trees have been placed across the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK, Australia and Canada. The original design was created by artist José Visser (1960-2016), and remains the foundation of everything we make.
